MORE ABOUT THIS PIECE
A re-creation of the war bonnet of Warrior’s Horse. He was from the Crow nation (northern Plains). This is a modified replica and not a reproduction. The original headdress is currently in Paris, and there's only one photo available of the very poorly preserved bonnet. This version includes some best-guesses for details missing from the original. Materials include bronze turkey tail feathers, hand-dyed fluffs, period-correct 100% red wool, buffalo hide skull cap, copper nails, ermine skins, and silk ribbons. This bonnet is quite large and showy.
